I got a last minute ticket to see Miss Polly Jean last night a block away from my house! I had been listening to her newest album nonstop for the past week and have been wanting to see her live for years. I was surprised, but not disappointed. She was totally charming on stage but not as wreckless as I expected, which totally makes sense given that Let England Shake is pretty different from her previous albums. While it’s full of pretty intense lyrics referencing harrowing battle scenes etc etc etc, there’s also some serious tune-age going on.
